Scope

The project included the construction of a new production facility for Phillips-Medisize in Siemianowice Slaskie, Poland.

Phillips-Medisize, a prominent global provider of innovative products for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics sectors, required this expansion to address the growing demand in these fields. The facility encompasses a production hall, warehouse, and office-social areas designed to enhance the production of advanced medical devices and components. Additionally, the project also involved a second phase for Molex CCS, focusing on automotive applications. This second phase was critical for meeting the needs of the automotive sector, specifically for electric vehicle battery management systems.

Approach

GBPBP managed both phases of the project. In the first phase, we developed the Concept Design, Building-Permit Design, and Tender Design Supplement for the Phillips-Medisize facility, and ensured all necessary permits were obtained. For the second phase involving Molex CCS, we provided similar services, including detailed design documentation and supervision. This phase focused on developing an innovative battery management system for electric vehicles, requiring meticulous planning and coordination to integrate automotive-specific production processes within the facility.

Outcome

The completed Phillips-Medisize facility and the Molex CCS expansion met all project objectives successfully. The Phillips-Medisize plant is now fully operational, supporting the production of high-tech medical devices and components, and achieving LEED “Gold” certification. The Molex CCS phase resulted in a cutting-edge system for battery management in electric vehicles, fulfilling the automotive sector’s needs. Both phases have significantly advanced the company’s production capabilities and market position, contributing to their growth and the efficient delivery of high-quality products.
