Scope
The objective of the project was to provide a technical description for development of specific chapters for a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) upon the request of the Client for the Lithium Mining project in Ukraine to support PFS development in the following areas: site layout and site bulk civils; access road to national network; export storage, loading facilities at logistics hub, railhead; power supply; water supply; fuel and lubricants supply and storage; chemicals supply and storage; offices, laboratory, change rooms, on-site catering; communications; workshops – mechanical, electrical/instruments, platework, light vehicle maintenance, mine vehicle maintenance; geology core storage; near site accommodation for senior staff; site security and access, site lighting.
Approach
Engineering services for the development of specific chapters of a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) included: overview, detailed assessment and analysis of the present situation and the specific requirements related to each requested chapter of PFS to physical and operational aspects covering technical, institutional, financial, environmental, health and safety and socio-economic aspects; assessment of the general geotechnical, topographic conditions, potential environmental risks; development of a preliminary site layout plan; determination the requirements for infrastructure development, including roads, power supply, water management systems and waste management facilities; evaluation of potential route options based on factors such as feasibility, environmental impact, and alignment with existing infrastructure; evaluation of the facilities required for storage, loading, and unloading; development of preliminary cost estimation for establishing or upgrading the storage and loading facilities, including construction, utility connections, and ongoing operational expenses.
Outcome
CDM engineering team participated in meetings to address comments and discuss additional considerations from the Client’s side. Upon addressing all comments, CDM finalized all sections of Pre-Feasibility Study for approval. After finalizing, CDM developed the Final Pre-Feasibility Study Report.
